Celebrate that I am actually posting-ha! We just got back from a wonderful vacation in Seattle. I sure miss it there. Beyond that, no excuses for not posting/creating lately... Well, I have been terribly busy with my day job and Preschool is starting next week for my daughter. Good news though, I got completely inspired last night and began the task of re-organizing my studio/office. Time to sort through all of my junk and organize for a more productive and inviting work space!

This is a card that I made in July (!) for a 3-year old boy's Birthday.

A Birthday card, finally!

I have been struggling to get my craft room all settled (I know, it has been months)! I went to my LSS yesterday to grab a present for a friend and was loving all of the YUMMY paper in the store. I had to hold back, knowing how much I had at home. However, I managed to spend a small fortune anyways. I have weak will power when DP is involved!

I had to sit down last night and make some cards. I had forgotten how much I loved making cards!

Thanks to some pushing from Allison, I am attempting to get back into the swing of things. And, I did some blurfing around yesterday and found so many gorgeous creations (and new products)...it made me want to create right away!

This card is from a set that I made for a friend that is a new mama to a bouncing baby boy. I figured that I should stock her up with a set of Thank You cards for all of the awesome gifts that have been coming her way. I have to admit that I used a similar design for my own Thank You cards for my son- gimme a break though, I am still trying to get organized *wink* Thanks for stopping by!

Hello! It has been far too long! We moved at the very end of March and it has been a slow process of unpacking, organizing and just overall getting back into the swing of things around here. Ironically, we only moved to our backyard (really) and it has been the hardest move by far! I hope to get the last of my craft room unpacked in the coming weeks so I can resume craftiness. My new hobby has been photography and learning CS3 in my night classes- fun stuff.

Back to the card! I made this a few months back for a bridal shower. Unfortunately, due to my usual procrastinating-self, I made this in the wee hours of the night and took a pic that had bad light...

Hi everyone! I cannot believe how long it has been (November) since I last posted a card. Life got very busy with the holidays, traveling to California for Christmas, gearing-up for the move to our new home (which is nearly complete), and going back to work after my year-long maternity leave. My daughter is turning 3 next week. She decided on a Construction-themed Birthday party. Here is the design I came up with for her party. Hello! First, I wanted to thank all of you for your sweet thoughts for my Mom during her evacuation with the fires in San Diego. Her home is OK. What a relief. The fire literally burned 2 feet from her back door! She has many sad stories within her street and neighborhood, it is quite heart-wrenching to say the least.

I hosted a toddler/kid Halloween party at my home yesterday, so I will have some pics of that to share with all of you. What a task to prepare 28 treat bags (all hand-stamped)!

Today, we are off to a Princess-themed 3rd Birthday party. The girls are headed to a local children's salon to get their hair/make-up done and then back to the 'Castle' for dinner and Birthday cake- should be fun. Given this week has been hectic, I literally just had a few spare moments to get this card done. Sweet & Simple- just my style!

I made this card for my friend, Krista. Her birthday is the day after mine and she shares in the hobby of paper crafting too. I finally got to try out my new Cupcake stand stamp from Impress- so fun! I didn't have pink stickles, so I improvised and used my clear stickles and added sparkling pink glitter powder after I applied the stickles. It worked perfectly!

This weekend I celebrated my 30-something, okay, my 32nd Birthday! My hubby spoiled me rotten with some awesome accessories for my new Canon Rebel xti (which I am still learning how to use...). Anyways, we are actually celebrating my birthday tomorrow night since we had a plethora of other activities to attend to this weekend. One of the events was a School Bus Birthday party- yep, with an actual School bus! The kids rode around a bus for a half-hour and all loved it. I was a little on the queasy side! :) Anyways, I had to make a bus card for the Birthday girl!

I sat down last night to attempt to make some cards, but couldn't get my groove going. I played around with my new flocking powder- it was a little tricky to get the right consistency, but the more glitter I added, the better.

I have had a super busy week with our return to town, Isabella starting school (yesterday) and dance classes for her beginning this weekend. Hi everyone! I had a fantastic trip to Seattle. I indulged too much in my shopping (surprise, surprise). I didn't make it to A MUSE, but IMPRESS & RUBBER SOUL were fantastic! I was pretty busy being a bridesmaid and getting ready for the wedding. I will definately have to go to A MUSE next summer!

This card is not very fancy at all. I am suffering from a cold! This couldn't come at a worse time. We are leaving for Seattle and I have tons to do before we leave. One of things that I needed to do was make a few anniversary cards. So, this is what I came up with. It took all I had to sit down for a few minutes this morning and get these cards accomplished (I cheated and made two of the same card-shhh)! I thought that my COACH purse made a complementary background to this card. If you don't 'know' me, then you have no idea about my addiction to COACH purses...I have expensive habits and taste!

First, I have a long & overdue THANK YOU to Tracy over at Enchantasy. She was the winner of my first (ever) blog candy and sent me this adorable card and bookmark. How cute is she?

Today, my mailbox had some wonderful goodies from Elizebeth at eBethonline! My daughter, Isabella immediately grabbed the necklace and put it on- she is in love! This card is absolutely stunning and I am so glad that I ordered this SU set last week- I cannot wait to use it and Elizebeth has given me a wonderful inspiration piece to work from!

I am a huge slacker this week. Life is busy, busy! Sadly, there is no end to my busy lifestyle, well, perhaps next year? HA! Anyways, I haven't had any 'me' time this week to do any crafting- isn't that pathetic? Rest assured though, I am hosting a SU party at my house tomorrow-wohoo! In the meantime, I thought that I would at least post a card! I made this in February for my SIL who had a baby girl just 9 days after I had Bennett-don't ask me how I made a card at that point. I was given a beautiful diaper cake a few weeks prior by my dear friend, Tanis and it made a lovely backdrop for the photographing of this card, too bad the lighting is so bad and I have shadows! I just love that WILD ABOUT YOU stamp set from SU, it is so versatile!

I used some more of my fun Basic Grey paper to make this card. I had to score this card twice (at the top and then a piece on the bottom) to create more of a box to support the heavy weight of the front of the card. This allows it to stand without toppling over. I hope that makes sense. ;)

I made this card today with some goodies that have been neglected and my new KAISERstamp car- isn't it cute? The best part was that it was a deal (@ $3 CDN)! I picked-up the little flower bling on Granville Island (back in May) at this adorable shop. I made this card awhile back. I was hideously slow to get it in the mail along with a little oneise for my friend, Eve and her upcoming arrival. I have confirmed that the package arrived, so I can finally post it here. I am just in love with this Basic Grey paper and I thought that Eve would like it too. This is the first time I have really embellished the inside of a card, but it just seemed like I needed to do it.

Last week I featured my first (of many to come) Simple Storage Solutions. This week is quite similar. These little glass jars with a simple metal tin top are perfect for your odds & ends in the studio. I use them for brads, buttons, Primas, and loose ends of ribbon that are too tiny in my large jars (that are great for little projects of scraps). These are very inexpensive and sold in packs of 4 for approximately $2.99 (what a steal)! Elizebeth was so excited about last week's solution, she ran to IKEA and got some lovely jars and the jars that I am showing-off this week to. Go & check-out her blog, she is so sweet & talented!

Simple Storage Solution #1

I have been meaning to share my craft space with all of you. It is a mess right now, so I won't be posting any pics (but will soon)! I wanted to share my newest solution for ribbon storage. I was at IKEA this past weekend and these glass jars seemed perfect to display all of my yummy ribbon. I don't mind digging in the jars to grab some ribbon and I get a nice visual while I am whipping up a card. I am sorting my ribbon (which is excessive at this point) into various jars. I have one dedicated to SU Ribbon to help me out too. These jars take up a lot of real estate, I am fortunate to have a large table (42" deep) so plenty of room to display my cute new jars-o-ribbon!

I had to use another of my new $1 bin stamps from M's (I have about 40 of them sitting in a bucket ready to go...)! I have this problem (which I am sure a lot of you can relate to) which is buying, buying and then of course, buying *MORE* stuff and it sits & colletcts dust. So, today I pulled out a neglected slab of Dena's Closet Retro Friends Collection paper and put it to use.

I took some black Bazzil CS and layered a white scalloped oval die-cut behind the pink slab paper and then added the PP with a Marvy Giga circle punch of the pink and pop-dotted the sentiment stamp on top on white Bazzil paper. I took my Aquapainter (wow, twice in one weekend) and used SU Pretty in Pink to color it in. I added a MM clear Bling Brad to give it a little something extra, I used the same brads on either side of the card on the oval scalloped die-cut.

It was a fun & SIMPLE (10 mins tops) card to make!

We went to the Calgary Farmer's Market today. It was clear we couldn't leave the premises without some adorable cupcakes from the Buttercream Bakeshoppe. Isabella picked a Cherry Sundae. By some miracle, my entire household was sleeping this afternoon and I had some much-needed time to work on a card inspired by above mentioned cupcakes.

It was fun to try-out my new Cuttlebug. It works so easily, I think that I am addicted {already}! What a fun little machine! The ingredients for this card are:

Ever since I snapped up this cute little bird stamp (from the $1 bin @ M's) I just have been dying to try it out. I masked the sentiment for this card. I wanted to limit myself to using just blue/black on this card and I am pretty pleased with it. It was also a new sized card for me to try out (4 1/4 x 4 1/4) and I am finding it a nice little size to work with. I am beginning to think that I am NOT capable of making a card WITHOUT a Prima--what is up with that? I better break-out of my shell here, lol! :)

We returned home from celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary in Vancouver, BC yesterday. My sister, Brittney was in town over the past few days. She isn't exactly a crafter/stamper yet, so I helped her layout & assemble a card and coordinating gift tag for my Dad for this Father's Day.

Prismacolor Pandemonium

Years and years ago, I attended Graphic Design school in LA. I cringed every time my supply list had Prismacolor markers on it, as they were pricey for a starving Art Student that usually had about $2.500 worth of supplies and books to purchase each year. Over the year I spent in design school, I had accumulated quite the collection. Up until this morning, they were sitting in my Art Bin (circa 1995) on a shelf in the basement collecting dust. I ventured down this morning and rescued them! Much to my surprise (12 years later) they still work! I have seen a lot of stampers using Prismas, so it seemed like the perfect time to reconnect with them.

Shane is a courageous 7-year old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He was only five when he was diagnosed. On June 6th, 2006 Shane and his family received some unfortunate news: Shane experienced a relapse after completing 108 of 130 weeks of treatment. Please help me join in making Shane's Birthday wish come true, by sending him a BIRTHDAY card. His goal is 350 million cards. Here is the link to Shane's site. Isabella's first card

Isabella helped me make this card for Kevin's birthday. I pop-dotted the buttons for her and she put them on. She also picked out the ribbon- it coordinated quite nicely, don't you think? I am sure this is just the first of many creations that Isabella will make! Lucky for Isabella, we have every imaginable supply under the sun!

I recently discovered a WONDERFUL organization, Keiki Cards. They send cards to children (year-round) with terminal illnesses and life-threatening illnesses throughout the US & Canada (but will also send to other countries, upon request).

My mom recently contributed 25 cards to their Easter/Spring collection.

Next time you are making some cards, please consider making a few extra for Keiki Cards.

I made this card for my FIL's birthday. I have a hard time making masculine cards, but I think this worked out pretty well. I didn't have many pp selections on-hand to choose from, but I really liked the stripes. I added the hardware to give it a masculine touch too.
